Acoustic Emission (AE) has got the advantage of being able to record long-term real-time data which makes it suitable for long-term cyclic loading. There were a maximum of eight AE transducers available for use which were attached to the arch surface using a thin layer of hot-melt glue that provided good connection for transferring AE signals.
